Jayne Metcalfe
Director and Senior Specialist
With over twenty-five years of experience, Jayne is a recognised expert in air quality and emissions management, research and modelling. She enjoys a good life-work balance and enjoys spending time with friends and family, adventuring in the outdoors and trying to learn some te reo Māori at AUT with Lou.
Jayne provides policy and technical advice to a range of clients on all aspects of air pollution and emissions management.
Jayne holds a Master’s of Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering (honours) in Chemical and Process. Jayne has acted as an expert witness in the Environment Court and in public hearings under the Resource Management Act 1991.

Vehicle emissions modelling – technical lead for development the Waka Kotahi Vehicle Emission Prediction Model
Vehicle emissions policy assessment – estimating the impacts of introducing Euro 6/VI vehicle emissions standards for Ministry of Transport
Health impacts of air pollution - co-author of the updated Health and Air Pollution in New Zealand (HAPINZ 3.0) study in 2022
Resource consents (air discharge) technical assessments – providing expert advice to Waikato Regional Council
Air quality advice for public health –reviewing the public health risks associated with discharges to air from agriculture for Ministry of Health.
